A Midcentury Modern Whole House Remodel in Seattle, WA
- Original Architecture by: Roland Terry, designed Canlis restaurant
- Refresh Design by: Jessica Nelson Design
- Neighborhood: Magnolia
About this Project
Nestled in Magnolia’s Carleton Park neighborhood, this midcentury gem needed a thoughtful revamp to bring it back to its former glory—a true mid-century modern home reminiscent of Palm Springs, CA that creates an ideal escape from the city and is perfect for entertaining. Cool, contemporary and relaxed finishes were applied to the entire home, including the kitchen, master bath, guest bedrooms and laundry room.
The dated kitchen and wet bar are designed with marble countertops and slab backsplash, light gray cabinetry and brushed gold fixtures. The stained oak hardwood floors and crisp white walls keep the room feeling open and airy, while the new folding glass doors help to bring the outdoors inside.
Framing the living room is a classic brick wall fireplace with a new raised soapstone hearth.
Marble tile complete this one-of-a-kind contemporary look in the guest bathrooms and laundry room. The master bathroom features a stunning pink marble slab shower surround with a free-standing tub.
The one-of-a-kind foyer doors uniquely showcases an eclectic design element reminiscent of the midcentury style.
